Agricultural Manager

The 13 clergy estate assets of the Church of Sweden are collectively one of Sweden's largest landowners. The clergy estate assets in the Diocese of Skara manage approximately 25,000 hectares of forest land in-house and about 10,000 hectares of agricultural land that is leased out. Two forestry districts are responsible for the ongoing forestry operations, and for the coordination of the overall operations, there is an office with various functions. A democratically appointed property board is responsible for the overall governance. Together, we develop and refine the operations and manage the issues that arise in the management of a large land asset.

Job Description

The Diocese of Skara conducts modern agricultural management, and as an Agricultural Manager, you have the overall responsibility to ensure that farms and lands are utilized in the best possible way, focusing on long-term and responsible development of the properties. The work as an Agricultural Manager is very independent, but at the same time involves many contacts with various stakeholders such as tenants, contractors, the public, and authorities in connection with existing leases and the signing of new leases. You are responsible for, among other things, lease negotiations, maintenance and investment projects, environmental issues, and rationalization in the form of buying and selling land and properties. You also participate in lease inspections and land survey proceedings. As an Agricultural Manager with us, you have budget responsibility and are a presenter in the property board for your cases.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is educated as an agronomist or land surveyor or has equivalent education that we find comparable. You should also have experience in agricultural and negotiation situations. Experience in lease issues is an advantage.

You find it easy to build and maintain relationships, have a good ability to communicate and convey information to others in both speech and writing. You have good collaboration skills while also having a high level of integrity and being unpretentious. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

The position involves travel, and you therefore need to have a valid driver's license (category B).
